Yoga Federation of Serbia

Yoga Federation of Serbia (YFS in the following text) has been founded with the objective to provide its members with appropriate conditions for practicing yoga as well as realizing yoga standards declared by the World and European Yoga Federation that the YFS is a member of. Federation gathers members (Yoga Societies) which arranged their activities according to the international yoga standards and whose instructors are certificated by the licensed yoga associations, i.e. that are subscribed in the registered of certificated organization (Yoga Center of Serbia). Yoga Federation of Serbia gives information (professional consultations) to all yoga societies in Serbia that are interested to arrange their yoga activities according to the international standards, register their instructional work, implement needed supplement of the knowledge. Federation refers yoga societies from Serbia to scientific and professional literature about yoga encouraging them to research effects of yoga practice scientifically.

In order to attain the objectives Yoga Federation of Serbia:

Represents interests of the members
Provides its members with professional help in improvement of their yoga practice
Participates in construction and maintaining of the objects needed by the Federation
Publishes publications about activities of the Yoga Federation of Serbia
Gathers, arranges and recommends scientific and professional literature in the field of yoga to its members
Organizes professional gathering about effects of yoga practice, consultations, seminars and other forms of education in this field, independently or in cooperation with other organizations
Publishes books and other publications about yoga, according to the Law
Refers interested instructors who are members of the member groups of Federation to the teams organized to implement scientific, professional and research projects in the field of yoga
Cooperates with Universities, professional associations and other organizations that are occupied with yoga in the country and abroad

Membership in the Yoga Federation of Serbia

Member of the Yoga Federation of Serbia may become every person who accepts objectives and statute of the Federation, based on recommendation of the one of present members. Candidate for the membership in YFS must be registered and instructor who gives yoga classes must be subscribed in the register of certificated instructors of the Yoga Center of Serbia and possess diploma – certificate issued by this organization which is accredited for education by the World and European Yoga Association. Decision about acceptance of the members makes the Managing Board. In order to acquire membership, application is to be signed. Member may withdraw by giving written statement about withdrawal. Membership in Federation stops after the longer inactivity of the member or because of deviation or lack of conformation with the program according to the international standards of yoga practice. Member who seriously violates international yoga codex regarding work of instructor will be expelled from the register of instructors without the right to be registered again. Decision about discontinuance of the membership makes the Assembly, on recommendation of the Managing Board.

Rights of the members in the Yoga Federation of Serbia

Every member of the YFS has the right to:

equally with the other members participate in implementation of the objectives of YFS;
directly participate in making decisions in the work of the Assembly, as well as through the bodies of YFS;
elect and be elected in the YFS Board;
to be informed about work and activities of YFS fully and in a timely manner.

Member is obliged to:

actively contribute to the implementation of the objectives of YFS;
participate, according to his/her interests, in the activities of YFS;
pay the membership fee;
conduct other work delegated by the Managing Board
